Graphite on White Drawing Paper
Size: H. 14″ x W. 10″
Date: January 14, 2010

I once took an elective printmaking course in university. T’wern’t easy! I’m a get’er done sort of guy so I didn’t like all of the steps it took to get to a final proof no matter how many could be pulled off of the press once the first one was where you wanted it.

Forty years later I can pay tribute to the long hours blocking out areas, dry point, mezzotint, aquatint, bees wax rozin and acid baths. because of printmaking, I became a better drawer.

I’m not a great draftsman but I would say that if I am good at anything – if I like any art process – it is unquestionably the act of drawing images. Hope you enjoy this one.

Graphite, being what it is, the image is almost always more faint than I would like for it to be. This was the best I could come up with using my old “Brownie SureShot” camera.
